{"id":7474,"date":"2017-09-28T17:23:44","date_gmt":"2017-09-28T15:23:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tpole.it\/news-by-t-pole\/kaby-lake-intel-core-cosa-ce\/"},"modified":"2019-11-08T16:18:58","modified_gmt":"2019-11-08T15:18:58","slug":"kaby-lake-intel-what-new","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tpole.it\/en\/news-by-t-pole\/kaby-lake-intel-what-new\/","title":{"rendered":"Kaby Lake Intel\u00ae i Core&#x2122; &#8211; What is new"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Kaby Lake<\/strong> is the codename for the evolution of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tpole.it\/news-by-t-pole-it\/skylake-6-generazione-processori-intel-core\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Skylake<\/a>&nbsp;architecture and is the seventh generation of Intel\u00ae i Core &#x2122; processors.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like the previous generation, Kaby Lake is based on the 14nm production process and it represents only a relatively simple revision of the previous one. However, we will analyse in detail the improvements that have been made:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>clock increase of about 200 Mhz<\/li><li>insertion of <strong>Hyper threading<\/strong> on Pentium processors<\/li><li>increase in <strong>graphics performance of the GPU<\/strong>, which now unrestrictedly supports 4K resolution and native support for 10-bit and VP9 HEVC video encoding, always at 10bit<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\nHere are the <strong>benchmark data<\/strong> for i7 i5 and i3 processors of the Kaby Lake family compared to those of the Skylake family\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SKYLAKE ARCHITECTURE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/461d9ea65252f2195c9d38da7\/images\/bfe70860-7fb3-4363-ba32-035a384e0de9.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/461d9ea65252f2195c9d38da7\/images\/7a8474f3-c500-4a7f-a295-d46331774a40.png\" alt=\"Intel Core i5 6500\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/461d9ea65252f2195c9d38da7\/images\/7c7acac1-55a0-4352-9546-1a3ef2b54039.png\" alt=\"Intel Core i3 6300\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:38px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">KABY LAKE ARCHITECTURE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/461d9ea65252f2195c9d38da7\/images\/976cd4c2-e0ba-441e-9557-2fb45719c40c.png\" alt=\"Intel Core I7 7700\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/461d9ea65252f2195c9d38da7\/images\/a3d9524f-bf80-4ac0-bc6a-8833129d5b3a.png\" alt=\"Intel Core i5 7500\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/461d9ea65252f2195c9d38da7\/images\/4983277a-f0c2-4f57-b3db-45281f27de91.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\nThe increase in performance is on average a 10%\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\nThe new i7, i5 and i3 Kaby Lake processors have integrated the new Intel HD630 GPU, while the Skylake series processors have the HD530.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As with processors, we compare <strong>GPU benchmark data<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SKYLAKE ARCHITECTURE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/461d9ea65252f2195c9d38da7\/images\/8b79875f-2085-4d7e-8f95-3c41a15c3c10.png\" alt=\"Intel HD 530\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:41px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">KABY LAKE ARCHITECTURE<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/461d9ea65252f2195c9d38da7\/images\/f06adc73-b88d-4308-b0cb-98a42f85be78.png\" alt=\"Intel HD 630\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\nImproving graphics performance is definitely more interesting; we are around 20%.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SOME CURIOSITY ON KABYLAKE ARCHITECTURE<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Kabylake processors are the first Intel\u00ae i Core &#x2122; to be produced with the new PAO philosophy that replaces the Tick-Tock phases (term used by Intel to indicate its microprocessor development approach, through which the development cycle of CPU was divided into two successive &#8220;steps&#8221;). Starting in 2016, Intel\u00ae has introduced a new approach to the development of its microprocessors by introducing a third phase, and then passing to the philosophy <em>Process, Architecture, Optimization<\/em> (abbreviated in PAO).<\/li><li>Kaby Lake architecture not only includes processors but also two chipsets, the Z270 and the H270. However, we will not find any traces of these products in industrial products because they are not part of Intel&#8217;s Embedded Policy and will therefore be hardly used by industrial manufacturers that need to ensure good product availability over time.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kaby Lake is the codename for the evolution of&nbsp;Skylake&nbsp;architecture and is the seventh generation of Intel\u00ae i Core &#x2122;
