Why has Intel\u00ae produced two series of processors?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The answer is visible in the analysis of the most obvious differences, which are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- architecture structure<\/li>
- consumption<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
In the H series<\/strong> we always find, coupled to the processor, the chipset QM170 \/ CM236 \/ HM110; while processors U Series, as system on chip, have all integrated within them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The U series <\/strong>is the one where they obtained the maximum reduction in consumption. has beeen designed to obtain a reduced TDP in the face of good performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\n\nLet’s now consider three processors for the H series and the same number for the U series and compare them with each other:\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
H series processors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- i7 6820EQ<\/li>
- i5 6400EQ<\/li>
- i3 6100H<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
U Series Processors:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- i7 6600U<\/li>
- i5 6300U<\/li>
- i3 6100U<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
i7 6820EQ vs i7 6600U<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n
The first difference is given by the number of cores<\/strong>: 4 physical + 4 logic for the 6820EQ and 2 physical + 2 logical for the 6600U<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The second difference is given from the value of the smart cache<\/strong>: 8MB smart cache for 6820EQ and 4MB for the 6600U<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The comparison is quite disarming if we look at these data, even more if we analyze the data for 8454 against 4793 benchmark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Everything changes completely if we put them in relation about TDP values. Infact this analysis for i7 tells us that: compared to a reduction of about 45% of the performance, it corresponds to a decrease of 65% in TDP.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The analysis of i5 processors shows that the i5 6440EQ follows the rule of not having logical cores, as it happened for the S series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This rule is not replicated by the i5 6300U, which is equipped with “only” two physical cores, however, integrated with the corresponding logical, thanks to the presence of hyper threading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Considering these specifications the benckmark data are: 5778 for i5 6440EQ and 4352 for version i5 6300U.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The i3 processors are both equipped with 2 physical cores + 2 logical cores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this case, the benchmark data (6100H i3 and i3 6100U) are 3951 for H and 3878 for U.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We can therefore state that, to a reduction of only 2% of the performance, corresponds a decrease of 65% in TDP.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
