I Mini PC senza ventole sono particolarmente indicati per applicazioni dove si deve garantire alta affidabilità e resistenza alle vibrazioni. Fattore molto importante per i PC industriali Fanless è il cooling concept cioè la modalità con cui viene dissipato il calore generato dal processore e dal chipset. I sistemi fanless possono essere corredati da componenti a range esteso di temperatura o supporti di memorizzazione a stato solido come Disk On Module o Compact Flash.
